【Sophia Dormitories】Creating Connections in Dorm Life: LGLs’ Autumn 2025 Events at a Glance

上智大学直営寮（枝川寮・祖師谷国際交流会館・アルペ国際学生寮）は、国籍、宗教、文化等、多様なバックグラウンドを持つ学生たちが暮らす教育寮です。

各寮のリビンググループリーダー（LGL）達は、新寮生の入寮サポートをはじめ、寮内での様々な学習会や交流イベントの企画等、寮文化の醸成に貢献しています。

Sophia dormitories (Edagawa Men’s Dormitory, Soshigaya International House, and Arrupe International Residence) are educational dormitories where students from diverse backgrounds live and spend time together.　
Living Group Leaders (LGLs) at each dormitory are appointed to facilitate various activities in the dorms. LGLs provide support and organize activities such as move-in assistance, workshops, gatherings, and the proposal and implementation of rules to foster a vibrant dormitory culture.

2025年秋学期も、季節ならではのイベントや寮ごとの個性が光る活動で、寮の雰囲気がぐっと近くなりました。
ここでは、LGLが企画・運営したその楽しいイベント様子をざっくりご紹介します！

① 10月：新寮生歓迎イベント

各寮の秋学期初の取り組みとして、新寮生歓迎イベントを開催しました。
さまざまな国や地域から集まった仲間たちが、自然に打ち解けられるよう工夫を凝らした、温かな交流の場となりました。

① October: Welcome Events for New Residents

To kick off the autumn semester, each dormitory hosted a welcome event for new residents.
Students from a wide range of countries and regions came together in a warm, friendly environment designed to help them relax, connect naturally, and begin building a supportive community.

② 11月：秋の文化イベント

「スポーツの秋」「芸術の秋」「食欲の秋」をテーマに、各寮で多彩な文化イベントを楽しみました。
• 祖師谷国際交流会館：寮として初のe-Sports大会や、体育館でのドッジボールなど、連日スポーツイベントを実施し、白熱した時間が流れました。
• 枝川寮：秋の夜長に合わせた Movie Night を企画。リラックスした雰囲気で映画鑑賞を楽しみました。
• アルペ国際学生寮：手料理や飲み物を持ち寄るポットラック形式の交流会を実施。食べ物や感謝の気持ちをシェアし、温かなつながりが生まれました。

② November: Autumn Cultural Events

Under the themes of “Sports in Autumn,” “Arts in Autumn,” and “Autumn Appitite,” each dormitory enjoyed a variety of cultural activities.
• Soshigaya International House: Residents took part in energetic programs including the dorm’s first-ever e sports tournament and lively dodgeball games in the gym, creating days filled with excitement.
• Edagawa Men’s Dormitory: A cozy Movie Night made the most of the long autumn evenings, bringing students together in a relaxed atmosphere.
• Arrupe International Residence: A potluck-style gathering invited residents to share homemade dishes, drinks, and messages of gratitude—fostering genuine connections across the community.

③ 12月：寒い冬を皆で暖かく

寮生活の醍醐味のひとつは、気軽に仲間と食卓を囲めること。
日が短くなる季節には、その魅力を活かしたイベントが行われました。共有スペースのクリスマス装飾や、手作り料理の持ち寄り、プレゼント交換など、寒い夜でも寮生同士が温かい時間を過ごせる企画が好評でした。

③ December: Keeping Warm Together in Winter

One of the joys of dorm life is being able to gather around the table with friends.
To embrace the winter season, dorms organized events that brought residents closer: decorating common areas for Christmas, sharing homemade dishes, and exchanging small gifts. Even on the coldest nights, these activities created warm, memorable moments among dorm-mates.

④ 1月：One Day Tour

祖師谷寮では恒例の One Day Tour を1月11日に実施。寮生18名で千葉県香取市・佐原を訪れ、日本初の実測日本地図を完成させた伊能忠敬旧宅の見学や、歴史ある水郷を巡る舟めぐりを体験しました。
大人数での移動には予想外の出来事もつきものですが、江戸の情緒が色濃く残る街並みを歩き、歴史と文化に触れる充実した一日となりました。

④ January: One Day Tour

On January 11, Soshigaya Dormitory held its annual One Day Tour. Eighteen residents visited Sawara in Katori City, Chiba Prefecture, where they explored the former residence of Tadataka Inō—the cartographer who created Japan’s first scientifically measured map. The group also enjoyed a scenic boat ride through the historic canal district.
Although traveling in a large group always brings a few surprises, participants spent a fulfilling day discovering the charm, history, and culture of the Edo period townscape.

寮のイベント企画を通して、寮生達がより活発にコミュニケーションをとり、相互理解や楽しみを共有する事を目指しています。リビンググループリーダー達だけでなく、寮生の皆さんの協力や新しいアイデア、サポートを今後も期待しています。

Through various dormitory events, we aim to encourage more active communication among residents and foster mutual understanding while sharing enjoyable experiences.
We look forward to the continued cooperation, fresh ideas, and support not only from the Living Group Leaders but also from all dormitory residents.
