SSICとは？ What is SSIC?
SSIC（Sophia Student Integration Commons）は、11号館1階に位置する、学生同士のコミュニケーションを促進することを目的とした交流スペースです。学生センターが運営しており、留学生と日本人学生の交流を支援する様々なプログラムを実施しています。
SSIC (Sophia Student Integration Commons) is a student exchange space located on the first floor of Building 11. It was established to promote communication and interaction among students. Operated by the Center for Student Affairs, SSIC offers various programs designed to foster connections between international and Japanese students.
SSICで「中秋の和菓子作り」を開催しました！
Mid-Autumn Wagashi-Making at SSIC
2025年10月7日、秋学期最初のイベントとして、SSIC（Sophia Student Integration Commons）で「中秋の和菓子作り」を開催しました。
On October 7, 2025, SSIC (Sophia Student Integration Commons) hosted its first event of the autumn semester: the Mid-Autumn Wagashi-Making Workshop.
今回の講師は、上智大学外国語学部の卒業生であり、和菓子教室「ゆらぎ」を主宰する森さやかさん。中秋の名月にちなんだ2種類のデザインの練り切り、「月ウサギ」と「月見」作りに挑戦しました！
The workshop featured Ms. Sayaka Mori, a graduate of Sophia’s Faculty of Foreign Studies and instructor at the wagashi school Yuragi. Under her guidance, students created two beautiful nerikiri designs inspired by the Mid-Autumn Moon: “Moon Rabbit” and “Harvest Moon”.
イベントには、さまざまな国籍の学生が参加。講師の丁寧な説明を英語と日本語で聞きながら、言語の壁を越えて、みんなで楽しく和菓子作りに挑戦しました。それぞれの個性が光る、世界に一つだけの練り切りが完成！
Participants from diverse backgrounds joined the event. Thanks to Ms. Mori’s clear and friendly bilingual instructions, everyone could enjoy the experience regardless of language ability. The hands-on activity naturally sparked interaction, and each student crafted a one-of-a-kind wagashi reflecting their own style.
参加者からは「楽しかった！」「日本文化への理解が深まった」といった声が多く寄せられました。
秋学期が始まって2週間。授業の合間に、静かで豊かなひとときを過ごすことができました。
Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with students saying the event was “so much fun” and helped them “better understand Japanese culture.”
Just two weeks into the semester, it was a perfect chance to slow down and enjoy a peaceful, creative moment on campus.
