One Day Trip to Edo Tokyo Open Air Architectual Museum on National Best Friends Day

上智大学直営寮（枝川寮・祖師谷国際交流会館・アルペ国際学生寮）は、国籍、宗教、文化等、多様なバックグラウンドを持つ学生たちが暮らす教育寮です。

Sophia dormitories (Edagawa Men’s Dormitory, Soshigaya International House, and Arrupe International Residence) are educational dormitories where students from diverse backgrounds live and spend time together.

6月8日（日）、祖師谷国際交流会館の寮生24名が、One Day TripチームのLGL（リビング・グループ・リーダー）によって企画された江戸東京たてもの園（小金井市）へのワンデイトリップに参加しました。

ちょうどこの日は「National Best Friends Day」にあたることから、友情や共有した体験の象徴として、訪問前のブリーフィングでブレスレット作りのアクティビティが紹介されました。

On Sunday, June 8, twenty-four residents of Soshigaya International House participated in a one-day trip to the Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum in Koganei City. The event was organized by the One Day Trip team, led by the Living Group Leaders (LGLs).

Coincidentally, June 8th is National Best Friends Day, and to celebrate the spirit of friendship, a bracelet-making activity was introduced during the pre-trip briefing. This symbolic gesture represented the shared experiences and bonds formed throughout the day.

江戸東京たてもの園では、日本の建築や生活様式の伝統的な側面と現代的な側面の両方に触れながら、体験を通じて日本文化への理解を深めることができました。

At the museum, participants had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of Japanese culture through hands-on experiences, exploring both traditional and modern aspects of Japanese architecture and lifestyle.

今回のお出かけの企画は、すべての参加者にとって円滑で意義深く、文化的にも豊かな体験となるよう、綿密な準備が行われました。日本の豊かな建築遺産を学ぶだけでなく、参加者同士のつながりや思索、そして異文化間の友情を育むことも目的とされました。

Planning a trip outside the dormitory required careful coordination to ensure a smooth, meaningful, and culturally enriching experience for everyone involved. The goal was not only to explore Japan’s architectural heritage but also to foster reflection, connection, and intercultural friendship among participants.

事前のブリーフィングから、公共交通機関での移動、現地での見学、昼食に至るまで、すべてのプロセスが非常に有意義なものとなりました。

今回のワンデイトリップを企画・運営してくださったLGLの皆さん、本当にお疲れさまでした！

祖師谷国際交流会館とアルぺ国際寮では、寮生が多様性の中での共同生活を通じて人間的成長を果たすために、基本的な生活コミュニティとしてリビンググループが形成されており、各グループにはリビンググループリーダー（LGL）が任命されています。LGLは、新寮生の入寮サポートをはじめ、寮内での様々な学習会や交流イベントの企画等、寮文化の醸成に貢献しています。

A variety of events will continue to be organized at Sophia Dormitories, and all residents are encouraged to participate with enthusiasm.

Soshigaya International House and Arrupe International Residence are our international dormitories, home to residents from diverse backgrounds. These dormitories use the Living Group as the basic unit of the community, allowing students to learn and grow within a diverse environment. Living Group Leaders (LGLs) are appointed to facilitate various activities in the dormitories. LGLs provide support and organize activities such as move-in assistance, workshops, gatherings, and the proposal and implementation of rules to foster a vibrant dormitory culture.
