Connecting at SSIC: April 2026 Events

SSIC（Sophia Student Integration Commons）は、11号館1階にある、学生同士のコミュニケーションを促進することを目的とした交流スペースです。
授業期間中の平日11:30～16:30に開放しており、上智大学生であればどなたでも、交流目的で利用できます。

SSICを運営する学生センターでは、様々な体験を通じて学生の交流を促進するプログラムを実施しています。

SSIC (Sophia Student Integration Commons), located on the first floor of Building 11, is a space established to promote communication and interaction among students.
SSIC is open on weekdays from 11:30 to 16:30 during the academic term. All Sophia students are welcome to use the space for interacting with others.
Operated by the Center for Student Affairs, SSIC offers various programs designed to foster connections between students.

① 生け花体験

① Ikebana Workshop

2026年度最初のSSICイベントとして、「生け花体験」を開催しました。

SSICでは、2019年以来となる久しぶりの「お花」をテーマにした企画です。今回は、外国人向けにも多数の生け花教室を開催されているルーセル仁美さんを講師としてお招きし、初心者でも気軽に楽しめる生け花体験を実施しました。

今回の生け花体験では、学生同士の交流を深めるため、一人一作品を制作するのではなく、グループごとに一つの作品を作り上げる形式で行いました。参加者たちは、花材の配置や角度、全体のバランスについて意見を交わしながら協力して制作を進め、グループごとに個性あふれる作品が完成しました。

完成後には、お互いの作品を鑑賞し合う時間もあり、和やかな雰囲気の中で交流を深めることができました。最後は、それぞれ完成した作品を持ち帰りました。

As the first SSIC event of the 2026 academic year, we held an “Ikebana Workshop”.

This was the first flower-themed event organised by SSIC since 2019. For this workshop, we invited Hitomi Roussel from Atelier Floralie to lead a beginner-friendly ikebana experience.

In this workshop, students created one arrangement as a group to encourage interaction among participants. While discussing the placement and angles of the flowers, each group completed a unique ikebana arrangement together.

After completing their arrangements, participants also had time to appreciate one another’s works.
At the end, each group took their arrangement home.

② 浮世絵摺り体験

② Ukiyo-e Printing Workshop

4月28日（火）、SSICでは初となる「浮世絵摺り体験」を開催しました。本イベントでは、UKIYO-E PROJECTの皆様をお招きし、浮世絵の魅力と伝統技術に触れる貴重な機会となりました。
当日は、
①浮世絵の歴史や制作工程のレクチャー
②プロの摺師による実演
③参加者自身による木版摺り体験
という流れで実施されました。

実演では、熟練の技で作品が仕上がっていく様子に、参加者から驚きや感動の声が上がりました。その後は、版木を使って、それぞれが自分だけのオリジナル作品づくりを楽しみました。

On Tuesday, April 28, SSIC hosted its first-ever Ukiyo-e Printing Workshop.
We invited professionals from the UKIYO-E PROJECT, giving participants a valuable opportunity to experience the beauty and traditional techniques of ukiyo-e.

The event consisted of:
・An introduction to the history and production of ukiyo-e
・A live demonstration by a professional printer
・A hands-on woodblock printing experience

During the demonstration, participants were captivated by the printer’s skill, expressing surprise and admiration.
Afterwards, everyone enjoyed creating their own unique prints using traditional woodblocks.
