浅草で日本文化を満喫！SSIC企画『浅草カルチャーデイ』開催レポート
‘Asakusa Culture Day’ Event Report

2025年11月9日、浅草の街に小雨が降る中、SSIC（Sophia Student Integration Commons）主催の文化交流イベント「浅草カルチャーデイ」が開催されました。集合場所の雷門前には、傘を差しながら参加者12名が集まり、日本語と英語が飛び交う国際的な雰囲気の中でツアーがスタートしました。

On 9th November 2025, amidst light rain in Asakusa, SSIC (Sophia Student Integration Commons) hosted “Asakusa Culture Day”. At Kaminarimon Gate, 12 participants gathered with umbrellas, and the tour began in an international atmosphere.

最初の目的地は浅草寺と仲見世通り。今回は、地元のボランティアガイドの方が同行し、浅草の歴史や文化について丁寧に説明してくれました。雨に濡れた石畳が歴史を感じさせる中、ガイドの話に耳を傾ける学生の姿や、学生同士で補足説明をする場面もあり、学びと交流が自然に生まれました。しかし、途中で人混みに紛れて学生がはぐれるハプニングが発生！　集合場所で全員集合できたときには、安堵の表情が広がりました。

Our first destination was Sensoji Temple and Nakamise Street. A local volunteer guide provided detailed explanations about Asakusa’s history and culture. Students listened attentively on the rain-soaked stone pavement, supplementing each other’s understanding. However, some students got separated in the crowds! Relief spread when everyone reconvened at the meeting point.

続いて挑戦したのは、昔ながらの縁日遊び「射的」と「金魚すくい」。射的では「なかなか落ちない！」と苦戦しながらも、お菓子をゲット！！

一方、金魚すくいでは驚異的な腕前を見せる学生が登場！　次々と金魚をすくい上げる姿に、周囲から「すごい！」と拍手が起こり、場は一気に盛り上がりました。

Next, we tried traditional festival games: shateki (shooting gallery) and kingyo-sukui (goldfish scooping). At the shooting gallery, participants struggled but managed to win sweets!!
At goldfish scooping, one student displayed remarkable skill! Their success drew applause and the atmosphere became lively.

お昼は浅草名物「もんじゃ焼き」。鉄板を囲みながら、初めてのもんじゃやお好み焼きに挑戦する留学生たちは「どうやって食べるの？」と興味津々。みんなで一緒に焼き上げる過程で笑い声が絶えませんでした。食文化を通じた交流は、言葉の壁を越えて自然なコミュニケーションを生み出したように感じます。

For lunch, we had Asakusa’s speciality, monjayaki. Around the hot plate, international students trying it for the first time asked “How do you eat this?” Laughter was constant as we cooked together. Exchange through food culture created natural communication transcending language barriers.

午後は陶芸体験。Dakota工房で、参加者は真剣な表情で土をこね、自分だけの作品づくりに挑戦しました。
「ハート形にしたい」「壺っぽくしたい」「波の形を入れたい」など、個性豊かなアイデアが飛び交い、完成した作品を見せ合うときには、誇らしげな笑顔が広がりました。世界に一つだけの作品は、きっと忘れられない思い出になるでしょう。

In the afternoon, we tried pottery at Dakota Workshop. Participants kneaded clay with serious expressions, creating unique pieces.
Creative ideas flew: “I want a heart shape”, “Make it pot-like”, “Add wave patterns”. Proud smiles spread when showing their completed works—unforgettable one-of-a-kind creations.

15時、名残惜しさを感じながら解散。アンケートでは「日本文化を深く知ることができた」「国際交流が楽しかった」といった声が多く寄せられ、満足度の高さがうかがえました。雨やハプニングもありましたが、それを乗り越えたことで、参加者同士の絆はより強くなったように感じます。

At 3 p.m., we disbanded reluctantly. The questionnaire showed high satisfaction: “I gained deep understanding of Japanese culture”, “International exchange was enjoyable”. Despite rain and mishaps, overcoming challenges strengthened bonds between participants.
