Connecting at SSIC: May 2026 Events

SSIC（Sophia Student Integration Commons）は、11号館1階にある学生同士の交流スペースです。授業期間中の平日11:30〜16:30に開放しており、上智大学の学生であれば誰でも気軽に利用できます。

また、SSICを運営する学生センターでは、学生同士のつながりを深めるさまざまなイベントやプログラムを実施しています。

SSIC (Sophia Student Integration Commons), located on the first floor of Building 11, is a space designed to encourage interaction among students. It is open on weekdays from 11:30 to 16:30 during the semester, and all Sophia students are welcome to drop by and connect with others.

The Center for Student Affairs, which manages SSIC, organizes a variety of programs and events to promote student exchange through shared experiences.

① 歌舞伎音響体験

① Kabuki Sound Experience

5月21日（木）、上智大学と国立劇場がコラボした「歌舞伎音響体験」を開催しました。今回は、普段あまり意識されることのない「音響」に注目し、歌舞伎の舞台裏の魅力に触れるイベントとなりました。

当日は、音響を担当するプロの方から、舞台での音の作られ方を実演を交えて学びました。後半には、実際の道具を使った体験に加え、身近な材料で「鶯笛（うぐいすぶえ）」を作るワークショップも実施しました。自分で音を作る楽しさを通して、音響の面白さをより身近に感じられる時間となりました。

“Kabuki Sound Experience,” a special collaboration between Sophia University and the National Theatre was held on March 21. This event focused on the of sound in Kabuki, offering participants a chance to explore the art form from a behind-the-scenes perspective.

A professional sound specialist demonstrated how sound effects are created on stage. In the second half, participants tried using actual stage tools and took part in a hands-on workshop to make their own uguisu-bue (bird whistle) using everyday materials. Through these activities, they were able to enjoy and better appreciate the art of sound-making.

参加者からは、

といった声が聞かれました。また、「実際の担当者の話を直接聞けてよかった」「とても楽しくて貴重な経験だった」など、体験型ならではの魅力が感じられるイベントとなりました。

Participants shared comments such as:

• “I was impressed that everything is performed manually rather than mechanically.”

Many also appreciated the opportunity to hear directly from a professional, with feedback like, “It was great to learn from someone working in the field,” and “It was a fun and valuable experience.”

② 小金井市ワンデーツアー

② Koganei City Day Trip

5月31日（日）には、「小金井ワンデーツアー」を開催しました。春学期最初のSSIC学外イベントとして、自然と文化の両方を楽しめる1日となりました。

まずは「江戸東京たてもの園」を訪れ、東京の歴史ある建物を見学しながら、昔の暮らしや文化に触れました。その後は三光院へ移動し、竹之御所流の精進料理を体験。料理を味わうだけでなく、一品一品に込められた意味や工夫についてのお話も伺い、日本の食文化への理解を深めました。

さらに、作務禅についてのお話や、料理長・西井香春先生との交流の時間もあり、落ち着いた雰囲気の中で充実したひとときを過ごしました。

“Koganei One Day Trip,” the first off-campus SSIC event of the spring semester was held on May 31. Blessed with great weather, participants enjoyed a relaxing day exploring both culture and nature.
The trip began at the Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum, where participants explored historical buildings and learned about traditional lifestyles in Tokyo. Afterward, the group visited Sanko-in Temple to experience the Takenogosho-style shōjin cuisine(Buddhist vegetarian cuisine).
Along with tasting the dishes, participants listened to explanations about the meaning behind each one, gaining a deeper understanding of Japanese food culture. They also learned about Samu-Zen (Zen practices through daily work) and had a chance to chat with Chef Koshun Nishii, the successor of the Takenogosho-style cuisine.
