Ready for Emergencies!　2026 Spring Fire Drill Highlights

上智大学直営寮（枝川寮・祖師谷国際交流会館・アルペ国際学生寮）は、国籍、宗教、文化等、多様なバックグラウンドを持つ学生たちが暮らす教育寮です。

直営寮では自然災害が多い日本でも安全に暮らすことができるように、毎学期各寮で防災訓練を実施しています。本記事ではその様子をお伝えします。

Sophia dormitories (Edagawa Men’s Dormitory, Soshigaya International House, and Arrupe International Residence) are educational dormitories where students from diverse backgrounds live and spend time together.

Sophia Dormitory conducts fire drills each semester to help residents live safely in Japan, where natural disasters are a part of everyday life. This article highlights the activities and experiences from this semester’s drills.

アルペ国際学生寮では、四谷消防署にご協力いただき、避難訓練のほか消火器訓練とAED訓練を実施しました。訓練中には、四谷消防署管内で火災が発生し、消防隊員の方々が緊急出動する一幕もありましたが、隊員の方々が戻った後に訓練を再開し、寮生たちはそれぞれの講習をしっかりと体験することができました。

訓練終了後は、アルファ米を使用したおにぎりや水を入れて混ぜるだけで食べることのできるパスタ、長期保存可能なようかんやビスケットといった非常食を配布し、参加者全員で試食しました。

非常食の説明は25年度のSophia Dormitory Study Tour で実施した「いつものもしもをデザインする無印良品防災プログラム」に参加したLGL（リビンググループリーダー）を中心として行われました。寮生活を通して学んだことがより深く、広くつながっていくことを実感できる防災訓練となりました。

At Arrupe International Residence, residents participated in fire drills, fire extinguisher training, and AED training with the support of the Yotsuya Fire Department. During the program, a fire broke out within the Yotsuya Fire Department’s jurisdiction, and the firefighters were called away to respond. Once they returned, the training resumed, and residents were able to complete all of the planned sessions.

After the drills, participants sampled emergency foods, including rice balls made from alpha rice, pasta that can be prepared simply by adding water, and long-lasting foods such as yokan and biscuits.

Explanations of the emergency food were mainly provided by LGLs (Living Group Leaders) who had participated in MUJI’s disaster preparedness program, ITSUMONO MOSHIMO, during the FY2025 Sophia Dormitory Study Tour. The event highlighted how knowledge gained through dormitory life can be applied and shared in practical situations.

枝川寮もアルペ国際学生寮と同様に避難訓練のほか、深川消防署枝川派出所にご協力いただき、消火器訓練とAED訓練を実施しました。

枝川寮は個室型のマンションタイプの寮ですが、各居室からの避難を約5分で完了し、寮生が避難ルートをしっかり把握していることが確認できました。

枝川寮でも防災訓練終了後にはお菓子が配布され、寮生たちは笑顔で防災訓練を終えました。

As at Arrupe International Residence, residents of Edagawa Men’s Dormitory participated in fire drills, fire extinguisher training, and AED training with the cooperation of the Edagawa Branch Office of the Fukagawa Fire Department.

Edagawa Men’s Dormitory is an apartment-style residence with private rooms, and residents completed the evacuation from their rooms in about five minutes, demonstrating a clear understanding of the evacuation routes.

After the drills, snacks were distributed to the residents, and the event concluded with many smiles.

祖師谷国際交流会館では、世田谷区防災教室の方をお招きし、避難訓練や消火器訓練のほか、非常食調理体験や煙中避難体験、地震体験も実施しました。

地震体験は地震体験車「なまず号」を利用して実際の揺れを体験しました。祖師谷国際交流会館は海外からの留学生が多く、地震を経験したことがない学生も多くいます。日本で安全に、安心して暮らすために重要な体験を得る機会になりました。

このほかにも、首都直下型地震が起きたという設定のドラマを視聴し、災害時の対応を学んだほか、火事などで煙が蔓延する中を移動して避難するための訓練も行いました。

訓練終了後は、LGLが中心となってアルファ米を使った炊き込みご飯を寮生に配布しました。また、白米のアルファ米も炊き、LGLと寮オフィススタッフでおにぎりも作りました。これらの防災食は寮生に非常に好評で、あっという間に完食してしまいました。実際に防災食を味わうことで、非常時の食生活について具体的にイメージする機会となりました。

At Soshigaya International House, instructors from the Setagaya Disaster Preparedness Program conducted fire drills, fire extinguisher training, emergency food preparation, a smoke evacuation exercise, and an earthquake simulation.

For the earthquake simulation, residents experienced realistic shaking aboard the “Namazu-Go” earthquake simulation vehicle. As many international students had never experienced an earthquake before, the program provided a valuable opportunity to learn how to stay safe in Japan.

Residents also watched a disaster-preparedness drama depicting a major earthquake in Tokyo and learned appropriate emergency responses. In addition, they practiced evacuating through smoke-filled conditions similar to those caused by a fire.

After the training, LGLs distributed seasoned rice made with alpha rice to the residents. They also prepared plain alpha rice and made rice balls with the LGLs and dormitory staff. The emergency meals were well received by the residents. The tasting session offered a valuable opportunity to experience emergency food and learn more about disaster preparedness.

直営寮では年２回、防災訓練を実施しており、すべての寮生が参加しています。地域の皆さまのご協力のもと、今回もさまざまな訓練を無事に実施することができました。日頃から防災への意識を持つことが、自分や周囲の人の命を守ることにつながります。これからも防災について学びながら、安全で安心な寮生活を送っていきましょう。

Sophia Dormitories conduct Fire Drills twice a year, and all residents take part in them. With the support of local community members, we were able to successfully carry out a variety of training activities. Staying aware of disaster preparedness in our daily lives helps protect not only ourselves but also those around us.
