LGL企画紹介 第1弾　Tour Day開催！ ～日本の街と文化に触れる一日～
LGL Event Series Vol. 1: Tour Day – A Day of Exploring Japanese Cities and Culture

上智大学直営寮（枝川寮・祖師谷国際交流会館・アルペ国際学生寮）は、国籍、宗教、文化等、多様なバックグラウンドを持つ学生たちが暮らす教育寮です。

今学期、枝川寮と祖師谷国際交流会館では、LGL企画として寮を飛び出し、日本のさまざまな魅力に触れる「Tour Day」を実施しました。本記事では、各寮の学生たちが地域を巡りながら交流を深めた様子をレポートします。

Sophia dormitories (Edagawa Men’s Dormitory, Soshigaya International House, and Arrupe International Residence) are educational dormitories where students from diverse backgrounds live and spend time together.

This semester, residents of Edagawa Dormitory and Soshigaya International House stepped outside their dormitories for “Tour Day,” an LGL-led program designed to explore different aspects of Japan. In this article, we share highlights from the day and how students deepened their connections with one another while discovering their local communities.

枝川寮のLGLが企画したのは寮が所在する江東区を巡り、日本の文化や歴史を堪能できるツアー。ツアーが行われたのは５月、天候にも恵まれ、富岡八幡宮の参拝からスタートしました。みんなでおみくじにも挑戦。見事大吉を引き当て、幸先の良い旅のスタートとなりました。

富岡八幡宮の参拝後は徒歩で移動し、清澄庭園を散策。爽やかな初夏の日差しと風を感じながら園内を巡る時間は、日々の学生生活のリフレッシュにもぴったりなひとときとなりました。

The tour organized by the LGLs of Edagawa Men’s Dormitory took residents around Koto Ward, where the dormitory is located, offering an opportunity to experience Japanese culture and history. Held in May and blessed with fine weather, the tour began with a visit to Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine. The participants also tried drawing omikuji fortune slips, and one resident even drew a Daikichi (great blessing), making for an auspicious start to the day.

After visiting the shrine, the group walked to Kiyosumi Garden. Strolling through the garden while enjoying the refreshing early summer sunshine and breeze offered a perfect opportunity to relax and recharge from everyday student life.

最後に訪れたのは江戸東京博物館。この日の企画展示のテーマは「大江戸礼賛」。日本の文化や歴史を知るのにぴったりの内容で、参加した留学生も大満足の様子でした。

The final stop was the Edo-Tokyo Museum. The theme of the special exhibition that day was Praise for Edo. The exhibition provided an excellent introduction to Japanese culture and history, and the international students appeared highly satisfied with the experience.

祖師谷国際交流会館のLGLが企画したのは、横浜ツアー。梅雨入りした直後の６月ということであいにくの雨模様でしたが、初めて横浜を訪れる寮生も多く、期待に満ちた表情でツアーを開始しました。

寮生たちははじめに「YOKOHAMA AIR CABIN」というJR桜木町駅と新港地区を結ぶロープウェイに乗車しました。上空からみなとみらいや観覧車、赤レンガ倉庫などの観光名所を一望し、横浜の魅力的な街並みを堪能しました。

The LGLs of Soshigaya International House organized a tour to Yokohama. Although the tour took place in June, shortly after the start of the rainy season, and was met with unfortunate rainy weather, many residents were visiting Yokohama for the first time and began the tour with excitement and anticipation.

The group’s first activity was a ride on the YOKOHAMA AIR CABIN, the ropeway connecting Sakuragicho Station and the Shinko District. From above, the residents enjoyed panoramic views of Minato Mirai, the Ferris wheel, the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, and other famous landmarks, taking in Yokohama’s unique and vibrant cityscape.

次に訪れたのはカップヌードルミュージアム。ここでは、自分だけのオリジナルカップヌードルづくりに挑戦しました。容器のデザインから味付け、具材選びまで真剣に吟味し、世界にひとつだけのカップヌードルづくりを楽しみました。

体験を終えた後はインスタントラーメンを発明した安藤百福が出会った世界各国の麺料理を楽しめるフードアトラクションを満喫し、多彩な麺料理を味わいました。

カップヌードルミュージアムの見学を終えた一行は横浜の定番観光スポットである赤レンガ倉庫、山下公園、中華街を巡り、ツアーを締めくくりました。初めて横浜を訪れた寮生にとっても、その魅力を存分に感じられる貴重な機会となりました。

Next, the group visited the Cup Noodles Museum Yokohama. There, residents tried their hand at creating their own original Cup Noodles, carefully considering everything from the container design to the soup flavor and toppings. Everyone enjoyed creating a one-of-a-kind Cup Noodles cup uniquely their own.

After the workshop, the residents explored a food attraction featuring noodle dishes from around the world that Momofuku Ando, the inventor of instant noodles, encountered during his travels. They enjoyed sampling a variety of noodle dishes from different countries.

After their visit to the Cup Noodles Museum Yokohama, the group toured some of Yokohama’s most popular attractions, including the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, Yamashita Park, and Yokohama Chinatown, bringing the tour to a close. The tour provided a valuable opportunity for residents, especially those visiting Yokohama for the first time, to fully experience the city’s unique charm.

寮を飛び出して行われたツアー企画は、普段の寮内イベントとは異なる雰囲気の中で、寮生同士がお互いの新たな一面を知る機会となったのではないでしょうか。あわせて、日本の名所や歴史・文化を体感することもでき、参加者にとって充実した一日となった様子がうかがえました。

直営寮ではこのような学生同士の主体的な交流を大切にし、様々な行事を実施しています。今後も様々な直営寮行事を発信していきますので、ぜひお楽しみにお待ちください。

By stepping outside their dormitories, residents had the opportunity to get to know one another in a new light, in an atmosphere quite different from that of their usual dormitory events. The tours also offered a valuable chance to experience Japan’s famous landmarks, history, and culture firsthand, making for a fulfilling day for all who participated.
